Tdm Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Residential Estimator with experience in land appraisals to join their dynamic team.

About the Role:

This is a crucial role in the company's growth strategy, combining traditional estimating duties with the essential task of evaluating potential land acquisitions for residential development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Accurate Cost Estimates: Evaluate the cost of residential construction projects from initial feasibility through to project completion.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Land Appraisals: Assess the viability of potential development sites, including financial modeling and cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Land Acquisition Team: Identify opportunities and provide detailed financial assessments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze Project Specifications: Prepare detailed cost plans and budgets by analyzing project specifications, architectural drawings, and engineering reports.
  • Maintain Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and material costs to ensure competitive and realistic pricing.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the overall success of the company by supporting the continuous improvement of estimating and appraisal processes.
Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an Estimator, with a strong background in land appraisals within the residential construction sector.
  • Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is essential.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork, are required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UK construction practices, building regulations, and the land acquisition process is crucial for success in this role.
