Job Title: EU Purchase Specialist for Indirect Commodities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EU Purchase Specialist for Indirect Commodities to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing indirect services and commodities across all European sites, developing market intelligence programs, and building strong connections with global and local purchasing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage indirect services and commodities covering all European sites
  • Develop market intelligence programs to ensure accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation
  • Build and maintain strong connections with global and local purchasing teams
  • Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted suppliers deliver required service levels
  • Identify and engage EU vendors, develop requests for information/quotations, and align plant functional needs to support TdC activities
  • Ensure timely implementation and communications resulting from EU negotiations to required business partners
  • Implement ISO-based processes to aid in streamlining daily activities and ensuring a path to continuous improvement
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers to undertake performance reviews driving improvement activities
  • Work cross-functionally to establish QCD targets, and objectives and monitor/report KPIs to local management, EU, and Global Leaders

Requirements:

  • Degree University qualification is essential
  • CIPS or MCIPS is preferred for this role
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI, SAP
  • Travel will be required within the EU and sometimes Asia
  • Full driving license
  • Language fluent in English is essential (C1 level)

Background Experience:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment of at least 4 years covering supplier engagement, negotiation, and cost reductions
  • Strong negotiator to help influence local functions and ability to work to tight deadlines and time management
  • Excellent communication skills are crucial to this role, to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate commodity market trends
  • Ability to investigate new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities to further strengthen cost reductions and supply rationalization
  • Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and a willingness for continuous improvement
