We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Integrated Community Forensic Learning Disability Team. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and advice to service users, carers, and other professionals.
About the RoleThe post-holder will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessments of service users, based on the appropriate use, analysis, interpretation, and integration of complex psychological data. They will also be responsible for formulation and implementation of complex plans for formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users' mental health/developmental disability/behavioural problems/criminal offending behaviours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and advice to service users, carers, and other professionals.
- Develop and implement complex plans for formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users' mental health/developmental disability/behavioural problems/criminal offending behaviours.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, and consultation to colleagues in the team, carers, and other professionals.
- Ensure members of the clinical team have access to a psychologically based framework for understanding the care of service users.
- Undertake risk assessment and management of individual service users, especially in relation to offending behaviour.
- Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner information concerning assessment, formulation, and treatment plans.
- Act as care co-ordinator, ensuring the provision of a care package appropriate for the service user's needs.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist who has:
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability.
- Previous experience of working in a forensic setting.
- Experience of providing supervision to other psychologists.
We also welcome applications from candidates with further post-qualification training in a therapeutic approach and experience in administering a range of forensic risk assessments, facilitating case consultations, and providing training to others.
