Role Summary:
We are looking for an accomplished finance professional who excels in leadership and is committed to enhancing financial performance. The Finance Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring the organization’s fiscal integrity, compliance with regulations, and strategic advancement within the investment sector. Candidates with experience in Wealth Management or Insurance are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Duties:

  • Direct and supervise the Finance team to guarantee precise and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage the month-end closing process and generate management accounts.
  • Enhance processes and controls with a focus on automation and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain a strong financial control framework.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Payable teams to ensure effective transaction management.
  • Ensure adherence to FCA regulations, CRS/FATCA reporting, VAT submissions, and R&D tax credits.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations to streamline processes.
  • Engage with auditors and external consultants for annual financial reports, accounts, and tax calculations.
  • Supervise payroll processes and manage cost controls for business sustainability.
  • Oversee cash flow management and reporting.
  • Assist in the transition to a unified general ledger/ERP system.
  • Enforce financial policies and ensure compliance with established procedures.

Experience & Expertise:

  • Background in financial services, including banking, investment management, or insurance.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP.
  • Extensive experience with Sage, including analysis codes, integrations, and automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (knowledge of SQL, Python, or VBA is advantageous).
  • Experience in general ledger migration, including project management, mapping, and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
