Job Title: Personal Injury Paralegal

Job Summary:

Pearson Locke Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for managing NIHL claims, supporting clients, and facilitating successful outcomes for those affected by workplace or environmental factors in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Management: Assist in the preparation and management of NIHL claims, including gathering evidence, preparing legal documents, and liaising with clients and medical professionals.
  • Legal Research: Conduct detailed legal research on pertinent case law, statutes, and regulations related to occupational hearing loss claims.
  • Client Communication: Manage communication with clients, providing updates and information on their cases, ensuring a high level of client service and support.
  • Case File Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant information is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Support to Solicitors: Support solicitors in trial preparation, including bundle preparation and witness coordination.
  • Medical Expert Liaison: Liaise with medical experts to obtain and interpret medical reports and other evidence critical to NIHL claims.
  • Hearings and Settlements: Help prepare for and attend hearings and settlements, under the supervision of experienced solicitors.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal, professional, and ethical standards governing the conduct of legal practices in the UK.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A degree in law or a relevant field, or a diploma in paralegal studies.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience working as a paralegal, ideally with exposure to personal injury or employment law, specifically NIHL cases.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the legal processes related to personal injury claims in the UK.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously. Proficient in legal research and the use of case management software.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear and compassionate client interactions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Case Management Systems: Experience with case management systems specifically designed for personal injury cases.
  • Proactive Approach: A proactive approach and a keen eye for detail.
  • Paralegal Certification: Certification from a recognized paralegal association in the UK.
