About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Childcare Specialist to join our team at Randstad Care. As a Residential Childcare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing 24-hour care to vulnerable young people, ensuring their health, hygiene, and safety needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medication and provide care, support, and emotional guidance to children living away from their families.
  • Assist in personal development, education, and social interactions, teaching essential life skills for independent living.
  • Manage challenging behaviour with appropriate strategies and provide a safe and supportive environment for children to thrive.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a residential setting with young people, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Flexibility in the roles undertaken, with the ability to work varied shifts and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience in assisting with educational needs and activities for children, with a focus on promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Registration under the PVG scheme and a full driving license (preferred).
  • Obtained, or working towards, SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
