About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team, supporting the SSEN Large Capital Delivery Directorate.

As a key member of our team, you will provide expert procurement and commercial support to various projects, including complex large capital projects.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

  1. Procurement and Contract Management: Manage the tender process for capital projects from issue of invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase.
  2. Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategies in line with the Capital Projects Governance requirements.
  3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
  4. Team Support: Support the Head of Procurement and Commercial and the Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world-class procurement and commercial service.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  1. A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and professional membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016.
  3. Experience of commercial governance arrangements for large capital projects, including contract administration and cost management.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret commercial contracts and negotiate with stakeholders.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
