Sports Journalist

As a Sports Journalist for the BBC Channel Islands, you will be responsible for producing high-quality sports content for our audiences across the Channel Islands. This includes finding and setting up stories, working with colleagues to generate ideas, and presenting a Saturday afternoon sports show on BBC Radio Jersey and BBC Radio Guernsey.

• Strong editorial judgement and ability to make sensitive decisions quickly and decisively
• Excellent working knowledge of media law and the BBC's policies
• Good command of the English language and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
• Ability to work under pressure and make decisions with authority
• Strong negotiation, team working, and organisational skills

This is a hybrid role, working across both Jersey and Guernsey, and you will be the face of sport on BBC Channel Islands News. You will have a passion for sport, particularly at a community level, and be keen to deliver original stories across all platforms from the island sporting communities.
