ALPLA UK Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Manager – Local & Regional Support to contribute to our commitment to workplace safety and environmental responsibility.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact across multiple sites within our organization. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive on-site support at our Merseyside plant, guiding site management and teams in implementing best practices for HSE management.
  • Offer regional expertise to other ALPLA UK sites, collaborating with local teams to enhance safety protocols and environmental performance.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, maintain accurate risk registers, and liaise with specialist providers for specialized assessments.
  • Play a key role in accident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Deliver engaging HSE inductions and refreshers to site personnel, ensuring they are well-informed about safety procedures and protocols.
Regional Site Support
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior UK HSE Manager to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of our HSMS/EMS systems and corporate HSE programs.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to existing and new teams on approved procedures, promoting a consistent approach to HSE across all sites.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Develop comprehensive SSOW (Safe System of Work) documents and Toolbox talks to enhance safety awareness and promote best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HSMS/EMS arrangements, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support local HSE managers in achieving corporate and regional improvement projects, fostering a collaborative environment for enhancing safety performance.
Your Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in HSE management within a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Your qualifications should include:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent qualification.
  • Environmental management certificate.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workplace transport, task risk assessment, manual handling assessment, COSHH, and PUWER knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in accident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
