About the Role:

Pertemps Sheffield is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic HGV Class C+E driver to join our Transport team at DHL in Normanton. As a Relief Driver, you will cover holidays, sickness, and other great runs with the chance of a permanent contract with DHL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily pre-trip checks on vehicles and report any defects
  • Drive an HGV Class C+E vehicle in a safe manner and work in accordance with safe systems of work and risk assessments
  • Transport stock in cages and metal boxes, as well as loose items such as vehicle bumpers
  • Complete successful deliveries of car parts in a timely manner
  • Provide an excellent standard of customer service
  • Adhere to Driver Working Time Regulations and Road and Traffic Laws

Runs and Locations:

The runs for this position include driving to various locations, including Doncaster, Lincoln, Harrogate, Knaresborough, York, Malton, Scarborough, Sunderland, Newcastle, and Gateshead.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence, DIGI Card, and CPC qualification
  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience driving a Class 2 vehicle
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate great time keeping and reliability
  • Show a good use of initiative and self-motivation
  • Have a flexible approach to work
  • Show an awareness of Health and Safety procedures as well as Road and Traffic laws

Pay and Benefits:

  • Monday to Friday: £16.00ph guaranteed 10hrs pay
  • Full time: £38,340 per annum
  • Holiday pay: 2 days a month on a 40hr week
  • Pension scheme: optional
  • Statutory Sick Pay (SSP): paid after a certain period of working time
