Job Title: Locum Consultant Gynaecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Gynaecologist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

This is a 12-month locum consultant post in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, providing long-term sickness cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in both obstetrics and gynaecology on-call duties, with a total on-call ratio of 1:11 and a gynaecology hot week on a 1:12 rota.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a range of gynaecological services, including gynaecology outpatients, emergency gynaecology, and gynaecology theatre.
  • Participate in obstetrics and gynaecology on-call duties, including antenatal clinic and labour ward sessions, gynaecology clinic, and benign gynaecology theatre list.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of gynaecological services, including benign gynaecology, early pregnancy, endometriosis, urogynaecology, ambulatory, menopause, paediatric, endocrine disorders, vulval conditions, and termination of pregnancy.
  • Work closely with the specialist team of gynaecology oncologists to provide tertiary gynaecological oncology services for Lancashire and South Cumbria.
