Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in developing strategic relationships with our supply base, improving supplier performance, and mitigating supply chain risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Manager, Procurement in developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency and enhance business performance.
  • Set up and review supplier agreements, conduct monthly scorecard reviews of key suppliers, and lead quarterly business reviews to drive performance improvement activities.
  • Resolve high-level issues related to price, quality, delivery, or payment.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to mitigate risk and reduce costs.
  • Drive overall procurement process improvement and develop clear work instructions.
  • Build strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues within the organization.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Foster the growth and development of a team of Buyers through regular 1-2-1 reviews, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Provide support to the operational Material Planning team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven strategic procurement experience, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Understanding of working in a regulated environment.
  • Risk and contract management experience.
  • Experience in developing teams that consistently demonstrate exceptional performance.
  • Capability to enhance outcomes, minimize expenses, and foster business enhancements.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including advanced Excel skills.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in Inchinnan and involves working in an office environment. While infrequent travel may be required, the majority of your work will take place on-site.
