Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the commercial team, demonstrating strong commercial insight and a proven history in estimating for a variety of civil engineering and groundwork projects. A solid technical foundation and the ability to manage a demanding workload are essential.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Senior Estimator.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accurate registration, management, and organization of tender documents.
- Expressing interest in tender opportunities via relevant platforms.
- Conducting comprehensive reviews of tender documents to extract necessary information for pricing different types of work.
- Collaborating with clients to develop detailed and practical packages.
- Creating cost-effective tenders based on first principles.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Conducting thorough risk analysis and pricing.
- Preparing tender submission documents and estimating reports.
- Providing assistance for proposals and contract management activities.
- Performing site visits to evaluate and measure specific areas.
- Maintaining regular communication with management and on-site teams.
- Following up on submitted tenders and reporting results to management.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Educational Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent estimating experience in a similar capacity.
Professional Background:
- Significant and demonstrable experience in civil engineering projects.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Expertise in first principle estimating.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. Excellent time management and planning capabilities are required. A valid UK driving license is also necessary.
