Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Breast

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Oncology department at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the team to deliver high-quality care to patients with breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the team to deliver care that improves the health of individuals and the wider community.
  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge/skill and expertise.
  • Communicate effectively with others involved in patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients and demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
  • Participate in the hospital's 24-hour specialty helpline rota.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse Level 1/Diploma/BSc in Nursing.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical professional development, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
  • Excellent clinical applied knowledge, evidenced-based and taking account of national best practice standards.
  • Basic workload/shift management skills.
  • Mentorship Qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
  • Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability and NMC Standards for specialist education and practice.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
