About the Role

The Network Rail is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Track Maintenance Team Leader. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in railway operations, safety, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of multi-skilled and safety-critical staff, driving the success of the Track team and ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work meets the required safety and quality standards, regularly inspecting and verifying the quality of work performed by your team and contracted staff.
  • Task Prioritization and Planning: Take the lead in planning and prioritizing maintenance tasks, ensuring that all work is strategically aligned with the broader goals of the network.
  • Training and Development: Play a key role in the training and development of your team, working closely with management to identify skill gaps and provide mentorship.
  • Safety Advocacy: Actively promote a culture of safety within your team, leading by example and ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
  • Team Building and Motivation: Inspire trust and respect among your team members, creating a positive and productive work environment that motivates your team to achieve high standards of performance.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the railway environment, with a solid understanding of Track Maintenance tasks, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, with a strong emphasis on promoting safe working behaviors.
  • Extensive knowledge of COSS (Controller of Site Safety) protocols and experience serving as a Person in Charge (PIC 019).
  • In-depth familiarity with relevant Track standards and regulations.
