The College of Optometrists is seeking individuals with a passion for eye health to contribute to our work and activities.

We are the professional body for optometry, qualifying the profession and delivering guidance and development to ensure optometrists provide the best possible care. Our mission is to promote excellence through our affixes, building the evidence base for optometry, and raising awareness of the profession with the public, commissioners, and healthcare professionals.

As a member of our Lay Panel, you will play a crucial role in committees, working groups, and Council by providing an alternative viewpoint and specialist advice. No clinical knowledge is required, and we particularly welcome volunteers with backgrounds in senior financial management, commercial business, fundraising, or academia/research development related to healthcare. We also welcome experience in marketing, membership, IT/project management, or professional development.
