- Provide leadership and support for care staff and champion residents' safety and dignity
- Liaise with GPs and other health professionals to ensure residents receive medical and clinical support
- Support care staff in completing induction programs, training, and competency assessment
- Manage medications, including controlled drugs and oxygen, adhering to NMC requirements and Company Policies and Procedures
- Act within own skills and competence in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
- Ensure ongoing safety of residents, staff, and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring, and reviewing processes
- Monitor and record outcomes of identified risk areas, such as fluid and nutrition charts, turning regimes, and blood glucose monitoring
- Maintain clinical equipment in a safe, clean, and fully functional state
- Report equipment failures or damage to the Home Manager
- Maintain standards of infection control within the home and assist residents to maintain their own infection control needs
- Provide information to residents and relatives regarding care delivery, being mindful of data protection and Caldicott requirements
- Intervene immediately in situations where there is significant risk to residents
- Maintain residents' confidentiality, being mindful of Caldicott Requirements and following the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
- You are an RN or RMN with experience in a care home setting caring for older people
- You have a kind and caring approach with a passion for delivering the highest possible standard of care and support for residents
- You have excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a participatory manner with residents and relatives to enable them to achieve desired outcomes and goals
- You have experience and passion in supporting and developing less experienced staff members to ensure the delivery of exceptional care and support
- You have experience and passion in training and guiding less experienced staff members to ensure the delivery of exceptional care and support
- You work well within the team, leading, motivating, and supporting co-workers, acting as a role model in delivering care upon best practice
- You have the right to work within the UK
