Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
G4S Business Unit: US Youth Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance to assets, building fabric, services, and utilities to ensure a safe and decent environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned maintenance to assets, building fabric, services, and utilities in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
- Respond to breakdowns and damage to assets, building fabric, services, and utilities in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
- Conduct maintenance inspections and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical, and security equipment and services.
- Diagnose faults on mechanical and electrical support systems and rectify as necessary.
- Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals to carry out planned maintenance, routine inspections, and reactive repairs.
- Participate in emergency call-out arrangements and provide cover as needed.
- Assist in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture across the site, leading by example and reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified and experienced within an electrical engineering discipline to NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship equivalent with an 18th Edition qualification.
- Experience of building and facilities maintenance is essential.
- Desirable skills include experience of CCTV and Security technology, BMS systems, and Generator testing.
