We are seeking an experienced researcher to join our Institute of Functional Surfaces as an Associate Professor in Tribology and Surface Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to our research excellence in tackling global engineering challenges in surfaces and interfaces.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and collaborative research environment. As an Associate Professor, you will be expected to lead research projects, supervise students, and contribute to teaching and knowledge transfer activities. You will also have access to our advanced materials research infrastructure and the opportunity to build new collaborations with colleagues across the university.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in tribology and surface engineering, with a focus on green tribology, novel applications of tribology, and sensing of surface integrity.
- Develop and lead research projects, including securing funding and collaborating with industry partners.
- Supervise students and contribute to teaching and knowledge transfer activities.
- Contribute to the development of the Institute's research strategy and goals.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong research background and vision in tribology and surface engineering. You should have a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field and be able to demonstrate your ability to lead research projects and contribute to teaching and knowledge transfer activities.
