About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service at Solent NHS Trust. As a Senior Dental Officer, you will be responsible for delivering routine and urgent dental care to patients with complex needs, including those with social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management, and bariatric care.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake thorough examination of patients and provide a Dental Care Assessment.
- Plan and manage complex patient management issues, including those with medical co-morbidities.
- Provide clinical duties in relation to comprehensive dental screening, survey, and treatment services, including emergency treatment for patients requiring Special Care Dentistry and Specialist Occasional Care.
- Identify and manage medical emergencies, including leading the dental team in the appropriate first-line management.
About Us
Solent NHS Trust is working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together community, mental health, and learning disability services. The new Trust will operate locally to ensure services meet the needs of different communities.
Person Specification
- Current full Registration as Dental Surgeon with General Dental Council.
- Foundation (Vocational) Training / equivalence and current Performers List number.
- Experience of organising, managing, and running clinics and support staff.
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and currency within GDC requirements.
