Mechanical Estimator

About the Role:
PWS Technical Services (UK) LTD is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic Work Winning team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial part in winning new projects by preparing accurate prime cost estimates for the mechanical components of bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Estimating team with mechanical bids and tenders
- Prepare and submit prime cost estimates utilizing Enterprise Estimating Software
- Liaise with internal and external engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to construct and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates
- Identify and provide alternative cost proposals, solutions, and value engineering options
- Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
- Support and encourage junior team members
- Monitor targets and workflow
- Control and organise tender documentation
- Track and report analytics on various campaigns, internal communications, and social media using varied tools
Requirements:
- Experience working for a Mechanical & Electrical contractor
- Proficient in using estimating software packages
- Experience in budget and cost planning
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Ability to analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates
- Experience in preparing and submitting prime cost estimates using Estimating Software
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions
- An inquisitive mind with attention to detail
- High attention to detail and analytical thinker
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and external stakeholders
- Self-Disciplined
- Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
- A high level of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Confident manner, with ability to work to deadlines, whilst remaining focussed
- A full UK driving licence
