Position: Graduate Academic Support Specialist

As a Graduate Academic Support Specialist, your role will be to assist students, families, and educators in fostering a nurturing educational atmosphere that promotes significant academic advancement in science up to GCSE level. You will play a vital role in our commitment to ensuring that every learner, irrespective of their background, receives an exceptional education and meaningful opportunities in life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate student learning by implementing tailored educational programs, maintaining high expectations while fostering independence and confidence.
  • Provide mentorship to students individually and in groups, while organizing and conducting targeted booster and intervention sessions to address challenging subjects.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate insights regarding student performance.
  • Support whole-class instruction as needed.
  • Participate in departmental planning to gain insight into the curriculum and assist in its enhancement.
  • Employ strategies, in collaboration with teachers, to aid in behavior management and support students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Encourage inclusivity, promoting student interaction and collaborative work.
  • Modify and create resources for EAL and SEND students, ensuring their safety and access to the curriculum.
  • Assist in developing materials for curriculum delivery and classroom displays.

Person Specification:

  • A genuine passion and dedication to working with secondary school students.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient IT skills with a willingness to enhance digital literacy.
  • A relevant degree.
  • The ability to work under guidance and as part of a collaborative team.
