Position Overview:
The Inventory Management Specialist will be tasked with supervising supplier inventories, placing orders to fulfill depot requirements, orchestrating stock transfers, and guaranteeing the prompt and precise delivery of materials.
This role necessitates regular communication with depots and suppliers, alongside the utilization of planning software to enhance order efficiency.
This is a full-time position with a standard workweek.
Supplier Inventory Oversight:
- Daily ordering of stock for all depots based on current and anticipated requirements.
- Employ planning tools to determine optimal order quantities.
- Organize and manage stock transfers between depots in accordance with needs and priorities.
Initiate direct orders for specific depot requirements.
Delivery Management:
- Verify delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Coordinate with depots to arrange delivery timings, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
Optimize inventory levels to achieve a balance between availability and cost-effectiveness.
Performance Evaluation:
- Oversee daily On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance, striving to maintain a minimum rate of 95%.
- Monitor and report on OTIF metrics, pinpointing areas for enhancement.
Required qualifications include:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning capabilities.
- Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Effective communication skills with suppliers and depots.
- Time management skills to efficiently handle daily responsibilities and long-term planning.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders and inventory documentation.
This role is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to depots and suppliers as necessary.
Standard working hours apply, with the possibility of extended hours during peak periods.
