Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Band 6 Physiotherapist specializing in Musculoskeletal (MSK) care, eager to enhance and refine their expertise in this field.

Role Details:

This is a permanent Band 6 Physiotherapist position focusing on MSK services.

The department encompasses various services including MCATS, Outpatient MSK Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, and Women's Health.

The referrals received are diverse, providing an excellent opportunity to strengthen and advance your musculoskeletal capabilities within a supportive framework. Candidates must be self-driven, innovative, and dedicated to this specialization, possessing the experience and skills outlined in the personal specification.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services within the Musculoskeletal sector, working under the supervision of more experienced physiotherapists and independently in satellite clinics.

Conduct advanced physiotherapeutic assessments for patients presenting with a variety of complex physical and psychological conditions.

Formulate diagnoses and develop tailored treatment plans for each patient.

Maintain a high standard of clinical practice, which includes mentoring and supervising junior staff and students.

Perform all aspects of care as an autonomous practitioner.

Qualifications Required:

Essential:

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current HPC registration
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Desirable:

  • Membership in relevant special interest groups
  • Progressing towards MSc or MACP membership

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Significant post-registration clinical experience in musculoskeletal care within the NHS or equivalent
  • Recent practical experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist in the NHS or equivalent
  • Broad experience across various Band 5 clinical specialties, including Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics
  • Outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience, including consultant, GP, and Rheumatology referrals, as well as orthopaedic inpatients

Desirable:

  • Previous experience at Band 6 level
  • Extensive NHS experience

Skills and Abilities:

Essential:

  • Ability to present information clearly and logically, both in writing and verbally

Desirable:

  • Experience serving on safety committees

Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Understanding and experience in quality assurance and audit processes
  • Commitment to staying updated with relevant professional practices and new research
  • Ability to adhere to the Trust's policies regarding data protection, equal opportunities, and Health and Safety to meet the diverse needs of the patient population
