Payroll Officer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on an interim basis. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for all hotel employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle, including data input, calculations, and disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations and employment laws.
  • Handle payroll queries from staff and management promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE and National Insurance contributions.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and generate reports for management review.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
  • Collaborate with HR to process new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Assist in streamlining payroll processes and implementing best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems (e.g. Sage, Xero or Similar).
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • CIPP qualification or working towards it (desirable).
  • Fourth Hospitality is essential.
