About the Role:
The Commercial Procurement Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement to meet the company's operational needs. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and plan procurement activities, managing tender processes, and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and plan procurement activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
- Tender Management: Manage tender processes, including documentation, supplier negotiations, and relationship management.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they are accountable for meeting continuous improvement and productivity targets.
- Procurement Progress Monitoring: Monitor procurement progress and provide updates on active projects.
- Process Support: Provide support to the team in managing processes, cross-functional training, and risk management.
- Reporting and Analytics: Generate management reports, information, and analytics for decision-making.
Requirements:
- Commercial and Procurement Experience: Strong background in commercial and procurement frameworks, with proven process improvement skills.
- Procurement Expertise: Self-starter with expertise in Procurement and Category Management; knowledge of financial management is a plus.
- Supplier Relationship Building: Experience in building and managing key supplier relationships.
- Category Strategy Development: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies and strategic sourcing opportunities.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills and a history of delivering cost savings.
- Procurement Knowledge: Proficient in supplier categorisation, performance management, and the sourcing lifecycle.
- Communication and Relationship-Building Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with bid writing software is desirable.
