About the Role

CMS2 - Critical Maritime Systems & Support is seeking a highly skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth. As a Test and Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our air purification equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, configure, and test complex process equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Perform pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  • Conduct electrical testing, including low and high voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing, using oscilloscopes to capture analogue and digital signals.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Develop and refine test methodologies, including prototyping, to optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive issues log to track lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
  • Travel to various sites across the country to support the UK Nuclear Program (CASD) and occasionally abroad to support overseas customers.
  • Adhere to 5S practices and comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Requirements
  • Hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
  • Previous test and commissioning experience in a highly regulated industry, such as process engineering.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret process engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Good hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and ability to work well under own initiative.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes with short notice.
