About the Role

This is a senior-level position within the DNEG Feature Animation team, responsible for creating high-quality 3D character models for feature films.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement 3D character models that meet the highest standards of quality and technical viability.
  • Collaborate with the Modelling Lead/Supervisor to ensure the quality and technical viability of character models for a production.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, suggestions, and questions with other members of the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and adapt to changing requirements or briefs.
  • Participate in project-specific reviews/discussions, department assemblies, and other mandatory meetings.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Character Modeller in the film industry.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and traditional sculpting techniques using digital tools such as Maya or Z-brush.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work closely with the Modelling Lead/Supervisor to ensure the quality and technical viability of character models for a production.
  • Experience with modern ray-tracing or path-tracing rendering software like RenderMan or Arnold.
