MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Engineering team in the Anglian water region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the final optioneering stage and detailed design for construction on the Cambridge relocation project.

The Cambridge relocation project is a design and build project that involves the construction of a modern, low-carbon waste water treatment plant. The project aims to provide vital services for the community and environment, recycle water and nutrients, produce green energy, and help Greater Cambridge to grow sustainably.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and coordinating the final optioneering stage and detailed design for construction, ensuring technical excellence and innovation in engineering solutions.
  • Monitoring and reporting on design progress on a weekly and monthly basis, including taking action to maintain design delivery to time, cost, drive efficiencies, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with partners, including engineers, designers, contractors, and stakeholders, to drive collaboration and achieve project objectives.
  • Leading a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Identifying and mitigating technical risks, and implementing effective strategies to overcome challenges.
  • Ensuring the scope of solution is clearly defined and agreed by all parties, design complies with Client brief, contract, current legislation, Development Consent Order, building regulations, CDM, and relevant technical requirements.
  • Developing new ways of working to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.
  • Overseeing the Technical deliverables ensuring they are produced within the required time-scales, technical costs are properly managed, and Technical change is tightly controlled.
  • Ensuring all engineering outputs meet industry-leading standards and client expectations.
  • Upholding Anglian Water's commitment to sustainability, quality, and excellence in all project activities.
