Deputy Children's Manager Job Description

The Deputy Head of Placements plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Placements in driving the highest standards of service across Placement and Family Finding Teams. This position requires active participation in the overall development and management of the service, fostering positive discussions about Compass Community services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Contribute to the development and execution of service plans alongside Senior Management.
    • Monitor and control activities and governance to ensure safeguarding is in place while enhancing placement performance.
  • Staff Development and Management
    • Assist with staff induction, supervision, and appraisal processes for team members, in line with Compass policies.
    • Assist in addressing underperformance, capability, or competency issues as per agency policies.

The Deputy Head of Placements engages with internal and external stakeholders, working strategically and collaboratively with regional and divisional teams. This role requires a proactive and experienced manager capable of holding staff accountable to maintain high performance standards.
