Job Overview

We are seeking a Unit Manager to join our team in the CCU Cardiac Unit, which comprises 10 high dependency beds and telemetry units treating patients with a range of cardiology conditions.

The successful candidate will be a committed and experienced registered nurse with a compassionate and caring nature, who will lead on the delivery of high-quality acute/chronic nursing care.

The ideal candidate will have recent and relevant post-registration experience, as well as experience of team management and budget management.

They will possess excellent communication and organisation skills, be able to prioritise work using their own initiative, thrive under pressure, and respond to complex health problems and patient flow issues.

Main Responsibilities

The Unit Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the nursing team and care support team are adequately resourced and organised to deliver excellent care.

They will ensure that the nursing team and care support team are adequately supported and developed to deliver excellent care with compassion.

The Unit Manager will lead and develop the nursing team and the support teams by being a visible and strong role model, providing leadership and direction to the team, capitalising on research and development opportunities, and providing clinical supervision and advice for staff and students.

They will ensure the productive operation of the department through the monitoring and maintenance of standards that create a safe, clean, and organised environment.

The Unit Manager will demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate the team, and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, staff, and other resources to ensure the provision of excellent patient care and achievement of all relevant quality, safety, and performance targets.
