Our client, a prominent player in the energy generation sector, is seeking a Landfill Gas Operations Engineer to perform various maintenance and remediation tasks at gas fields across the northern regions of the UK. The successful applicant will possess a background in landfill gas operations, demonstrate robust mechanical and electrical maintenance capabilities, and ideally hold relevant gas qualifications.

Position Overview

  • Conducting monitoring, measurement, and auditing of existing gas fields to pinpoint faults and areas for enhancement.
  • Implementing remediation and improvements to gas fields as directed by senior management.
  • Ensuring compliance of all gas field operations with design specifications, utilizing relevant drawings and written guidelines.
  • Diagnosing issues, maintaining, and repairing gas collection systems.
  • Preparing and executing precise pumping trials and audits.
  • Utilizing appropriate drawings, scopes of work, and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) information to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Addressing spillages with pollution prevention equipment.
  • Traveling throughout the UK, primarily in the northern regions.

Position Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of landfill gas generation and control systems is essential.
  • Experience with Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) is highly advantageous.
  • A 360 and/or backhoe license would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is desirable.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
  • Residing in relevant postcodes.

Position Remuneration

  • Salary: £40,000 per annum.
  • Standard working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime opportunities available (up to 8 hours per week at time and a half).
  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Private healthcare coverage.
  • Pension scheme.
