About This Role

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialists to join our dedicated team at Cannock Chase Hospital. As part of a collaborative effort between The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare Trust, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of essential building services across the hospital site.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance services across a range of electrical systems within the hospital environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in fault diagnosis and repair across various building services, including lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, UPS/IPS systems, lifts, BMS systems, HVAC, and critical alarms.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to prioritize tasks and maximize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations by issuing Permit to Work (PTW) documentation and adhering to established procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

About You

You will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and hands-on experience working within a healthcare setting. A commitment to delivering high-quality service, coupled with a willingness to learn and develop new skills, is essential.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate substantial experience working across building services (M&E services).
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • Have proven experience working on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems.
  • Be proficient in carrying out electrical installations and testing to BS7671 requirements.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • ONC/HNC in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Trend, Schneider, or similar BMS systems.
  • Understanding of Motors and Controls.
  • Experience working on critical alarm systems such as DRAX.
  • CP status for Ventilation equipment.
  • LV CP/AP status for Electrical Systems.
  • Confined Space Training (CS1).
  • Knowledge of L8 Control of Legionella.
  • Asbestos Awareness Course.
  • Experience and knowledge working on generators and UPS/IPS systems.
  • Experience with Nurse Call and Intercom Systems.
