The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of projects, offering expert guidance and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Consultation & Feasibility Assessments Collaborate with clients to determine their needs and perform feasibility assessments to evaluate project potential.
- Building Evaluations & Inspections Conduct a range of evaluations and inspections to assess building conditions and identify necessary repairs or enhancements.
- Documentation & Specifications Develop and produce comprehensive specifications for construction works, along with tender and contract documentation.
- Project Management Liaise with design team members and project stakeholders to facilitate seamless project delivery.
- Contract Administration & Employer's Agent Serve as the Employer's Agent and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with stipulated terms.
- Site Assessments & Visits Perform site assessments to evaluate current conditions and determine future project requirements.
- Reporting & Documentation Create detailed reports and prepare essential documents, including plans, contracts, and budgets.
- Project Evaluation Review site activities and compile progress reports focusing on time, quality, and cost metrics.
- Party Wall Act Guidance Provide advice and act in accordance with the Party Wall Etc Act, serving as an appointed surveyor when necessary.
- Compliance with CDM Regulations Ensure adherence to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, acting as Principal Designer when required.
Qualifications
- Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in building surveying, construction project management, or a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations, construction methodologies, and safety standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in report writing and document creation.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools.
