Job Description

Meridian Business Support is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the balance sheet reconciliation and review process, escalating any non-compliance or issues identified.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the Financial Controller in delivering the month-end financial results in accordance with prescribed deadlines.
  • Accounting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with company accounting treatment and reporting rules, and prepare the annual Statutory Accounts in accordance with prescribed accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Tax and Treasury: Assist in the preparation of the annual Corporation Tax return, quarterly VAT returns, and ad hoc tax queries.
  • External Audit: Assist in managing the external audit alongside the Financial Controller, including Interim, Hardclose, Year-End, and Statutory Accounts visits.
  • Process Improvement: Take responsibility for own accounting areas and reporting the results in the Magnitude group reporting package, and assist in setting up accounts and processes for 2025/2026.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Ideally, you will be an experienced Qualified Financial Accountant, however we will consider a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), from an audit background.
  • Skills: Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of financial reporting standards, coupled with excellent communication skills.
