Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join one of our Alternative Provision schools in Littlehampton. You will play a vital role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, ensuring their academic and social success within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy, patience and respect in all interactions.
  • Assist in the supervision of students during classroom activities, transitions and recess periods, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviours and redirect inappropriate behaviours effectively.

  • Be passionate about child-centred learning.
  • Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Be able to make a positive contribution to the ethos of the school.
  • Preferably have experience of working with young people.
  • Committed, enthusiastic and a positive attitude.
