Lead Animator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Animator to join our team at Blue Zoo Production. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for leading a team of animators and delivering high-quality animated performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate a team of animators to achieve production deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the animation director to improve storytelling and character development.
  • Ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned shots.
  • Communicate effectively with directors and clients to meet their expectations.
  • Mentor and support junior animators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Report observations and feedback to production management.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve asset-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Lead Animator on a relevant production.
  • Extensive experience in the animation industry, preferably on a series.
  • Strong knowledge of body mechanics, posing, and character performance.
  • Expertise in Toonboom Harmony and traditional hand-drawn animation.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to receive feedback and respond positively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Life drawing skills.
  • Knowledge of traditional hand-drawn animation techniques.
