Cybersecurity Threat Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a Threat Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and disseminating cybersecurity threat assessments and developing cybersecurity indicators to maintain awareness of the highly dynamic operating environment.
Main Responsibilities- Research and investigate attack techniques and recommend ways to defend against them.
- Lead continuous evaluation and improvement of Hunting tools, defining operational parameters for use, and conducting reviews of tool performance and outputs.
- Create scripts and select appropriate tools to test attack paths in line with MITRE ATT&CK principles.
- Support security investigations to provide post-mortem analysis to illuminate issues and possible solutions.
- Review system logs, SIEM tools, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity.
- An organised approach that can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines in a high-pressure environment.
- Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating, with strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to pick up new technical skills quickly and apply them relevantly.
- The ability to interact with SSE staff at all levels up to senior and across all business units and organisations.
- The ability to gain UK National Security Vetting clearance level of Security Check (SC).
