Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our team. As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's network, installing new software, and providing technical support to teachers and pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the school's network and ensure it is secure and running smoothly
  • Install and upgrade software and applications as needed
  • Provide technical support to teachers and pupils, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Run diagnostics and maintain hardware peripherals
  • Develop and maintain the school's website and intranet
  • Purchase and maintain hardware and software
  • Ensure internet systems are safe and secure
  • Train teachers and students on technical skills
  • Liaise with suppliers on maintenance and licensing deals
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware, and software commonly used in schools
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Awareness of health and safety
Entry Requirements:

Qualifications and experience requirements may vary depending on the school and local authority. Some may require a degree or relevant qualification, while others may employ based on experience alone.

The Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools is not specifically related to ICT but can provide a good understanding of working in a school environment.
