Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management Team at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of medicines across the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Medicines Management: Manage the procurement, distribution, and supply of pharmaceutical products based on clinical need and cost-effective delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain medicines governance systems and processes across the LAS, ensuring compliance with UK Law and associated medicines legislation.
- Clinical Governance: Support the development and delivery of medicine management training, supervise and undertake risk management and clinical governance activities within own area of responsibility.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Pharmacy Technician Specialist, Medication Safety Officer, and the Chief Pharmacist to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician, NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent, and Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Experience: Experience developing and writing Standard Operating Procedures, supporting staff with training, managing staff, and undertaking research activities and dispensing clinical trial medicines.
- Knowledge: Robust knowledge of the GPhC Standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, and understanding of national guidelines and COSHH regulations.
Personal Qualities:
- Autonomy and Responsibility: Able to work autonomously and take responsibility for decisions.
- Travel and Training: Able to travel to different sites across LAS and undertake further training/development as necessary.
