We are currently seeking a dedicated Control and Instrumentation Engineer to enhance our Maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe operation and reliability of our terminal control and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering and maintenance technical documentation for new systems.
  • Implement safety-critical equipment routines, ensuring proper installation and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with site safety regulations.
  • Document actions on incident reports within the terminal's reporting system.
  • Monitor consumable stock levels and report accordingly.
  • Record inspections, defects, and repairs using site maintenance control forms.

Daily Responsibilities:

Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks, including:

  • Calibration of instruments and tank gauging.
  • Testing of cause and effects.
  • Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) proof testing.
  • Routine testing of fire and gas systems.
  • Inspection of switch rooms and management of external calibrations.
  • CompEx inspections and calibration management of test equipment.

Provide instrumentation engineering support and troubleshooting to optimize plant operational performance, including:

  • Communication and OT networking troubleshooting.
  • Basic PLC diagnostics.
  • Management of access control systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Replace or upgrade instruments as necessary.
  • Conduct hazardous area equipment repairs.
  • Manage isolation procedures in accordance with safety policies.
  • Supervise ongoing maintenance tasks carried out by contractors.
  • Assist in writing safety procedures and permits.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participate in project assistance and execution of assigned tasks.
  • Be part of the on-call rota for emergency engineering support.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/NVQ or equivalent in Instrument Engineering or relevant apprenticeship.
  • CompEx Units Ex 01 to 04 (Electrical).
  • BS7671 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the petrochemical or chemical industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with safety protocols.
