Senior Sports Regulatory Lawyer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sports Regulatory Lawyer to join our team at Search Legal in London. As a senior member of our sports law practice, you will be responsible for advising clients on a wide range of sports regulatory matters, including issues such as selection, eligibility, disciplinary, doping, and corruption sanctions, commercial disputes, and employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting regulations regarding membership, play, conduct, and discipline
  • Reviewing and revising existing regulations, including anti-doping and disciplinary regulations
  • Advising governing bodies on proposed sanctions to be brought against individuals
  • Advising sportspersons on non-selection and qualification issues
  • Defending individual sportspersons against disciplinary, doping, and anti-corruption charges
  • Advising brands on the limitations on the activation of sponsorship rights imposed by local and national advertising laws and regulations
  • Mentoring and training more junior members of the team

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a senior lawyer or partner with a portable client following. You will have gained extensive experience in sports regulatory matters from a highly regarded legal sports practice in London.
