Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and enhance margin and value for money on our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for minimizing costs, procuring subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with commercial and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all costs related to projects, including procurement and subcontract management.
  • Administer contracts, issue payment and pay less notices, and finalize accounts.
  • Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts.
  • Develop and implement subcontract procurement strategies.
  • Monitor risk and opportunity schedules and manage risk from commencement to completion.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term delivery strategies for projects.
  • Manage and undertake personal development reviews of associated surveying resources.
Requirements:
  • Experience in quantity surveying and knowledge of construction techniques and mixed-tenure schemes.
  • Strong account management and commercial experience.
  • Ability to learn new computer systems and software.
  • Strong team player with entrepreneurial ability to operate and excel in a changing on-site environment.
  • Good understanding of strategic objectives and targeting financial return.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Microsoft Excel.
