Financial Accountant

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a leading provider of acute hospital and community services, caring for over half a million patients annually. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Financial Control Team.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating effective audit and control processes, working closely with the Audit Committee and managing key external relationships. They will ensure the development and maintenance of robust financial accounting processes and standards for the Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver managerial responsibility for external reporting of the Trust's financial statements and monthly financial returns.
- Provide technical and statutory accounting support and advice to other financial accounts staff.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial accounts.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with auditors and national bodies.
- Actively pursuing and able to provide evidence of continued professional education and development.
- Demonstrate a successful track record of achievement within a large or NHS organisation, with experience in financial accounting.
- Experience in producing statutory returns, including Annual Financial Statements.
- Well-developed technical accounting skills and knowledge of Accounting Standards and good accounting practice.
- Intermediate level IT and finance systems skills and knowledge.
- Detailed knowledge of the NHS Trust financial regime.
