Cover Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
- Ensure students are engaging in pre-planned work.
- Manage student behavior to create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement, and completion of work tasks.
Cover Supervisor Requirements
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
- Prior experience as a Cover Supervisor is preferable.
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
- Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
- Empathize with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
