Nuclear Security Inspector

Are you a highly experienced protective security practitioner looking for a challenging role in a high-hazard industry? Do you have a good honours degree, an accredited Level 6 qualification or equivalent in a security subject, and a strong background in risk management?
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Protective Security Inspector to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for regulating security across the civil nuclear industry, ensuring duty holders comply with legislation and that operations are safe and secure.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess security plans and ensure compliance with legislation
- Visit duty holders to inspect security measures and provide guidance
- Engage with senior stakeholders, duty holders, and ONR colleagues to communicate technical matters and provide reports
- Lead and shape our society's future use of nuclear technology
- Good honours degree, accredited Level 6 qualification or equivalent in a security subject
- Highly experienced protective security practitioner with a strong background in risk management
- Expertise in two of the following areas: personnel security, policing and guarding, or emergency preparedness and response
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Competitive salary of £68,954 - £79,219 (plus £4,052 London Weighting Allowance if applicable)
