Position: Residential Support Worker - Children's Facility

Salary: £26,416 per annum (based on 40 hours/week) £12.70-£13.60 per hour. (Includes sleep-in allowance of £65 per night)

Location: Oldham (OL4)

Hours: Shift pattern on a rota basis (40 hours per week)

We are seeking a number of experienced and committed Residential Support Workers to join a newly established children's facility in the Oldham area.

This facility provides specialized residential care and assistance for children up to 18 years old with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or autism, who may also exhibit challenging behaviors.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a new team to create a safe and nurturing home-like environment for the children and young people.
  • Provide 24-hour care and support for all children residing at the facility.
  • Personal care may be necessary, depending on the individual needs of each child.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and be available on-call as required.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is desirable.
  • Two years of relevant experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Commitment to working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential, with support provided.
  • Completion of all mandatory training, including Team Teach Level 2, if selected.
  • Prior experience and understanding of challenging behaviors is essential.
  • A fully enhanced DBS on the update service is required. Assistance with a new DBS application can be provided if necessary.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, such as Autism and Learning Disabilities, along with challenging behaviors, is essential.
  • Compliance with all relevant checks to adhere to legal and safer recruitment guidelines is mandatory.
  • Submission of a comprehensive CV that includes any gaps in employment.
