The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Oculoplastics Lead to provide both general and specialized oculoplastic and lacrimal services. The role involves clinical responsibilities across various healthcare settings, ensuring high-quality patient care for a significant population.

A strong emphasis on Thyroid Eye Disease is present within our department, which maintains robust partnerships with dermatology services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting outpatient clinics and managing patient care effectively.
  • Engaging in the education and training of medical trainees and students.
  • Contributing to the professional development of junior staff and undergraduates.
  • Participating in the operational workload of the organization, including running theatre lists and clinics independently.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Comprehensive training in Ophthalmology to CCT / CESR level with a recognized postgraduate qualification.
  • Registration on the GMC Specialist Register in Ophthalmology or eligibility for registration.
  • A recognized Fellowship in oculoplastics and evidence of surgical proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
