We are seeking a dedicated Technical Support Officer to join our Metrology team at Lancashire County Council.

Key Responsibilities...

As a member of the Metrology team, your primary focus will be to assist local enterprises in adhering to their legal responsibilities under the Weights and Measures Act 1985. Your duties will include:

  • Supporting Trading Standards Officers in verifying the precision of measuring devices, including fuel dispensers and weighbridges.
  • Operating within our calibration facility to maintain the accuracy and traceability of our equipment to national standards.
  • Providing calibration services to commercial clients, ensuring their compliance and operational efficiency.

You will need to exhibit a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret collected data. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business proprietors and customers.

Work Schedule...

Flexibility is required, as you may need to work outside of standard hours, including occasional weekends, and may be assigned to various locations within the service. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
