About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor to join our Environmental and Operational Services team at South Holland District Council.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining, integrating, and improving the delivery of operational services, ensuring they are delivered in a safe and timely manner.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of front-line staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Council to ensure the continuity of day-to-day operational services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and Council policies.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of leading, supervising, and motivating a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Category C driving licence with a valid drivers CPC.
  • Use of Microsoft Office and confident in navigating a range of computer systems & in cab technology.
  • Demonstrable experience of HSE and understanding of HR policies and principles.
